It would be advised to get a shorter one and then with extension.

Yes you need 2x 10.5 inch (~27cm) extensions. Then adjust your safety gate to the shortest width, it should fit your doorway.
Unfortunately, even if you use an extension, the gate can only fit openings up to 161cm.
