What is a C-Panty?
C-Panty is underwear designed by a Mom and MD team to address post-Cesarean recovery concerns including scarring, swelling, sensitivity and discomfort.
The Key to C-Panty is:
- An interior silicone panel localized to the C-section incision. Silicone increases the moisture content of the area and addresses scar formation issues such as scar appearance, size and symptoms.
- A gentle compression panel to address swelling and support the incision area. Support and edema control mean increased comfort!
-A fluted waist to avoid the discomfort of elastic panty waistbands. No more digging in waistbands or big-ole panties! Yes, C-moms, you can toss out the giant mesh panties!
- An added bonus of the compression panel to control swelling is that C-Panty helps to provide a little post-baby shaping and hold down that pesky little C-bulge.
When can I start using a C-Panty?
You need to wait until the surface wound is healed (no scab remaining), about a week or you can cover the silicone panel with a pad or panty liner and begin use as tolerated. As with any post-surgical product, get your doctor's ok before using.
How long can I benefit from the use of a C-Panty?
Although the surface incision is healed, changes go on under the skin much longer. Ideally, most people benefit with daily use and when use begins within the first month and lasts three to six months. Heavier scars or keloids can benefit from longer use. C-Panty uses washable silicone that lasts up to a year with proper care (handle as a delicate with no machine drying.)

PRECAUTIONS (PLS READ)
- BEFORE USING C-PANTY, YOU SHOULD GET CLEARANCE FROM YOUR DOCTOR.
- DO NOT USE ON OPEN WOUNDS. C-Panty can only be used if the incision is fully closed and healed (no scab remaining). To use C-Panty before the skin is closed, you can cover the silicone with a pantyliner and begin use as tolerated [example].
- As with any topical material applied to the skin, some type of reaction (usually a heat or sweat rash) is possible. If you have a reaction, stop using the panty for 24 hours. After your skin has returned to normal, continue use and gradually increase the hours of usage. Monitor the area for signs of a reaction. Continue to increase the wearing time until a comfortable maximum has been reached. If you continue to have a problem, stop use and consult your doctor.
- For best results it is recommended to start scar management as soon as the wound is totally healed. C-Panty is best used if worn at least 12 and up to 23 hours a day. Scar management can aid in scar management most often up to a year after surgery.
- C-Panty can be washed by hand or in the delicate cycle. It should not be machine dried. It is recommended to have more than one scar management garment because daily wear and washing will deteriorate the panty more quickly.
Although no treatment method can make scars totally disappear, it has been demonstrated that scar management techniques can significantly impact scars.
